Doors FAQs
What are the Benefits of UPVC Doors?
- UPVC is a strong material that requires little to no maintenance. Simply clean your doors with a specific door cleaning agent or soap & water. UPVC does not rot and is highly weather-resistant when compared to timber.
- UPVC doors are built with thermal efficiency in mind. Our doors that feature windows are equipped with double or triple glazing – which allows you to save money on your energy bills and make a return on your investment over time.
- UPVC can be recycled indefinitely, making it a sustainable material for use in windows and doors when it’s time to replace your door.
- Your front door is the first thing that people see when entering your home. Investing in a brand-new front door can increase the overall value of your property and make your property more attractive to buyers when it’s time to sell.
What is the Difference Between UPVC and Composite?
Choosing between a UPVC front door and a composite front door is down to your preferences as well as the type of door that you are looking for. We have a wide range of UPVC front doors and composite doors available to suit your needs and we can help you choose the perfect front door for your home.
When is it Time to Replace My Current Door or Doors?
- Timber doors require regular maintenance if they are exposed to the elements otherwise they will rot and suffer environmental damage. If your timber door is showing signs of rotting, pests that have damaged the door or environmental damage then it is time to consider an upgrade.
- Although UPVC and aluminium doors do not rot and resist environmental damage – they can still become damaged over time. Check for buckling around the frame of your door and ensure that no draughts are coming into your house.
- If your door is approaching the end of its lifespan – then you may want to consider investing in a new door. Doors become less efficient over time so if you find that your doors are becoming less efficient – the money that you save on energy bills makes a new door a sensible investment.

When is it Time to Replace Old Windows?
Physical issues – you can see that your window is visibility damaged which could lead to structural damage and other issues. If it’s difficult to open your window or operate the mechanism then this could mean that you need an upgrade as some issues can be very difficult to repair. This may also put the security of your home at risk if the locking mechanisms aren’t working correctly.
Condensation within the glass – this indicates issues with the seals which will likely lead to the window having to be replaced. This can cause water to build up in and around the window which can cause damage as well as mould.
Draughts when the window is shut – this is also an indicator of damage to the seals which will require a replacement window. Your window will be letting heat escape as well as cold air in. Replacing your window with a fully efficient UPVC or aluminium window will decrease the amount you spend on energy bills.

EXCELLENT Based on 139 reviews Posted on Google Ron HumphreysTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had my new composite front door fitted this week by Homeglaze and the whole process from my initial enquiry through to completion couldn't have been a better experience. I have found them to be an excellent company to deal with and all of their staff work as a team, being most helpfull and very reassuring along the way. Customer satisfaction is certainly their top priority and I am delighted with the end result. Thank you to all of the team at Homeglaze. Regards, Ron Brilliant after sales service!!! Approximately 5 years on, I recently had a minor problem with the glazing panels in my front composite door. Without hesitation, Dean at Homeglaze ordered 2 new replacement panels and got them installed for me without any delay. It’s hard to find trades people you can trust, trust in your house on their own, whose opinion you can trust, and trust them to do a great job like these guys. There communication was clear throughout, they did what they said they would do. Most importantly they caught a potentially catastrophic error from our structural engineers, thanks to their care and attention. We will definitely be using them again.Posted on Google Maria KyprianouTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
